Ellie Goulding has released a new track titled 4 Seasons, which delves into her romance with Beau Minniear. This track is part of her upcoming album, which also explores the heartbreak of her split from ex-husband Caspar Jopling. Inspired by Minniear, the father of her daughter Iris, born in March, Ellie sings about their romantic getaway to the Four Seasons hotel in Florence.
In an interview, Ellie mentioned that while she didn’t intend to create a “divorce album,” the songs naturally reflected that chapter of her life. Some tracks were poignant, while others helped her gain clarity about her past. The progression of the songs in the album moves from dark and angry to cynical, then funny, and finally into the excitement of finding new love.
The lead single from the album, Black Prada Dress, addresses the negative inner voice that can hold people back. The album, titled I Know Too Much, is set to be released on September 4.
