TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM – A fatal accident claimed the lives of dozens of people on the Pantura route, Kiajaran Kulon Village, Lohbener District, Indramayu, West Java, on Sunday (12/7/2026).
Three vehicles were involved in the accident, namely a pickup truck and two trucks.
As a result of this accident, 13 people were reported dead.
Deden Ibad, the driver of truck B 9260 TEV, explained that at the time of the incident, his vehicle was crossing the Pantura route in Indramayu.
At the scene, a pickup truck was driving in front of him carrying passengers.
Unfortunately, the vehicle suddenly stopped and attempted to turn back through the median strip.
Unable to brake in time, the truck driven by Deden collided with the pickup truck.
Due to the strong impact from behind, the black open-bed truck was thrown into the opposite lane heading from Jakarta towards Cirebon.
At the same time, a truck with license plate number E 8846 BA driven by Abdul Muhi passed by and directly hit the pickup truck.
Two strong impacts caused dozens of passengers in the pickup truck to be thrown onto the road.
“Actually, I couldn’t bear to see the condition of the victims who were originally in the pickup truck falling on the road,” said Deden Ibad.
The Head of Traffic Unit of the Indramayu Police, AKP Undang Syarif Hidayat, confirmed that the number of fatalities due to the accident reached 13 people.
Three victims died at the scene of the accident.
Four victims died while undergoing treatment at Mitra Plumbon Widasari Hospital, while six other victims died at Bhayangkara Losarang Hospital.
In addition, the police also recorded five victims with serious or minor injuries. (Tribun-Video.com)
