Travis Scott’s Legal Troubles: The Drunken Lawsuit Explained
Travis Scott is currently involved in a legal battle stemming from an incident on a chartered yacht in Miami two years ago. While Scott was arrested for disorderly intoxication and trespassing at Miami Beach Marina in June 2024, no criminal charges were filed at the time. However, boat captain Adrian Frometa and charter managers John Steve Holguin and Mirnesa Hasanovic have now filed a civil lawsuit against the rapper.
According to the lawsuit obtained by Billboard, Scott rented a 105-foot yacht named Carpe Diem to cruise around Miami’s coast with three female guests on 19 June 2024. Frometa, who was the sole crew member on board initially, claims that Scott became intoxicated and aggressive as the evening progressed. The captain decided to cut the charter short, but Scott allegedly refused to leave the marina.
Frometa called in Hasanovic and Holguin for assistance, leading to a scuffle where Holguin was knocked to the ground. Hasanovic and Holguin then barricaded themselves inside the boat while Scott threatened them and attempted to force his way in. Law enforcement intervened and arrested Scott at the scene.
In a controversial move, Scott later released merchandise featuring his mugshot from the incident, which Frometa, Hasanovic, and Holguin claim trivialized the seriousness of the situation. The group is seeking financial damages for assault, battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
