BET Hip Hop Awards 2021 Nominees Watch Online



When are the BET Hip Hop Awards? The awards will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. CT on BET.

Get ready to honor the past year in hip hop! The 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards air Tuesday, Oct. 5, months after the network's BET Awards in June (see the complete BET Awards 2021 Winners List).

The awards show will take place in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Center.

Karlous Miller, DC Young Fly and Chico Bean of the 85 South Show will host the 16th annual BET Hip Hop Awards show, who've committed to an epic fashion feat: a wardrobe change for every commercial break.

The awards show also has a star-studded group of performers lined up, including Lil Jon, BIA and Gunna.


Drake is one of six artists nominated for hip hop artist of the year in the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, on BET.

The awards honor hip hop artists, producers and music video directors.

The I Am Hip Hop Award will go to Nelly “a diamond-selling, multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rap superstar, entrepreneur, philanthropist and actor.”

The Rock the Bells Cultural Influence Award will go to Tyler, The Creator.

He is an “award-winning artist, producer, director, fashion designer, filmmaker and entrepreneur who cofounded the hip-hop group and record label Odd Future in 2007.”

Performers will include Baby Keem, Bia, Gunna, Isaiah Rashad, Lil Jon, Tobe Nwigwe and Young Thug.

Nominations include:

• DJ of the year - Chase B, D Nice, DJ Cassidy, DJ Drama, DJ Envy, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Scheme and Kaytranada.
• Best hip hop video - Cardi B, “Up;” Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion, “Wap;” Chris Brown & Young Thug, “Go Crazy;” Drake featuring Lil Durk, “Laugh Now Cry Later;” Lil Nas X, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name);” and Saweetie featuring Doja Cat, “Best Friend.”
• Song of the year: Pooh Shiesty featuring Lil Durk, “Back in Blood;” Roddy Ricch, “Late at Night;” Drake featuring Lil Durk, “Laugh Now Cry Later;” Cardi B, “Up;” Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion, “Wap;” and Bia featuring Nicki Minaj, “Whole Lotta Money (Remix).”
• Best new hip hop artist: Blxst, Coi Leray, Don Toliver, Morray, Pooh Shiesty and Young Bleu.
• Best live performer: Busta Rhymes, Cardi B, Dababy, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion and Tyler, The Creator.
• Hip hop artist of the year - Cardi B, Drake, J. Cole, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and Tyler, The Creator.
